Summary.
Taphioporus gen. n. with the type species T. balticus sp. n. and the new
species, Colaspoides eocenicus sp. n., from Baltic amber are described. The
distinctness of the new genus makes the former definitions of the tribes
Euryopini Lefèvre, 1885 and Typophorini Baly, 1865 problematic because the
presence or absence of the preapical emargination on the meso- and metatibiae is
the only distinguishing character.
