| Prof. Victor A. Zaslavski (1933-1998) |
Professor V.A. Zaslavski (Zaslavsky) is distinguished for his great contribution to various branches of entomology: insect taxonomy, evolution, ecology and physiology. However, he is mostly known as outstanding specialist in physiology of photoperiodic response.
V.A. Zaslavski graduated from Leningrad Agricultural Institute in 1955 and since then he worked in Zoological Institute. During more that 30 years (since 1962), he was the Head of Laboratory of Experimental Entomology and BioControl Theory.
