         Born 31.08.1958 in Leningrad.

1975-1981 - Graduated from Leningrad State University , Biological Faculty with Diploma in Biology.

1987 - Candidate of Sciences (an equivalent of Ph.D.), Leningrad State University.
Dissertation: Comparative-morphological fundamentals for classification of the cyprinid fishes of the subfamily Leuciscinae.


          Positions:

1982-1996 - Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Laboratory of Ichthyology: postgraduate student, junior researcher, senior researcher.
1996-present - Zoological Institute of the RAS, Directorate: Scientific Secretary.
