Basic scientific results:
  • Chromosomes of about 250 species of parasitic Hymenoptera are studied. The general pattern of chromosomal evolution of the group as well as those of larger superfamilies, families and lower taxa are proposed. Implications of karyotypic data for taxonomy of parasitic wasps are formulated.
  • Certain trends of morphological and biological evolution of ichneumon wasps of the subfamily Ichneumoninae are revealed.
  • A new genus and 21 new species of the subfamily Ichneumoninae are described.
