Alexandra Sinelschikova

born in 1967 in Leningrad.

I graduated from St.Petersburg University, Dept. Vertebrate Zoology in 1990. After graduating from the university I worked at the Zoological Museum in St.Petersburg as an exhibition designer.

I am working at the Biological Station Rybachy since 1997.

My field of interests is nocturnal bird migration. The main field method used in my work are moon-watch observations (watching in telescope bird silhouettes crossing the face of the Moon). Besides, I use ceilometer observations, and trap nocturnal migrants in mist nets at night.

In 1994-1995 together with Bulgarian ornithologists I participated in the project aimed to receive preliminary estimates of directions and density of autumn nocturnal migration over the Balkan Peninsula. You may contact me in English.
