Two new water mite species of the superfamily Hygrobatoidea from Japan (Acariformes: Hydrachnidia)

Abstract. Forelia orientalis sp. n. (fam. Pionidae) and Axonopsis (Axonopsis) japonicus sp. n. (fam. Aturidae) are described from the Japanese lake Biwa. Both species are known from females only.
