A List of the Lady Beetles (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) of North Dakota with New Records from North Dakota and Minnesota

ABSTRACT

A checklist of the 54 species of Coccinellidae (Coleoptera) known from North Dakota is presented including five new state records for North Dakota: Brachiacantha tau LeConte, Hyperaspidius wolcotti (Nunenmacher), Hyperaspis lateralis Mulsant, Hyperaspis proba (Say), and Harmonia axyridis (Pallas). Five new state records for Minnesota are also reported: the first two above listed species, with Brachiacantha decempustulata (Melsheimer), Hyperaspis inflexa Casey, and H. brunnescens Dobzhansky. The rapid spread of H. axyridis in North Dakota is noted.
