S.M. Iablokoff-Khnzorian, 1985. Notes sur la phylogenie des Phytophagoidea (Coleoptera)

ABSTRACT:   The present study (already mentioned, although incorrectly, in the paper before last in DEZ, N. F. 30, 1983 Heft 1-3) is the last where we discuss the phylogeny of beetles; it refers to the Phytophagoidea sensu Jeannel (Chrysomeloidea + Rhynchophora). Based on the morphology of their terminalia, a few primitive groups can be distinguished within the Cerambycidae and Chrysomelidae. Bruchelidae are considered as a subfamily of the Anthribidae. The classification of the Curculionidae is discussed more thoroughly. The Rhynchaenini are treated as a tribe of the Apioninae; a new arrangement of the Adelognathi is proposed in which the primitive subfamily Ophryastinae is linked to the Cleoninae and the Hylobiinae, while the Leptopinae are related to the remaining Adelognathi. Most of the tribes of the Phanerognathi are included in the Curculioninae subfamily.
