Monogeneans of the genus Osphyobothrus Yamaguti, 1958 (Monogenoidea, Diclidophoridae). P. 305-311.
Two species of monogeneans, Osphyobothrus bychowskyi Khoche et Chauhan, 1969 and O. multivitellatus sp. n., were found on gills of fishes of the genus Saurida from the Indian Ocean and the South-Chinese Sea. The new species is characterized by well developed yolkglands which occupy the whole intracaecal space and by certain peculiarities in the structure of the adhesive clamps. All members of the genus Osphyobothrus possess the intestine which is formed by a net of branching and fusing canals. The adhesive clamps have a well developed membrane in the anterior valve of the clamp.

A new species, Bolbosoma tuberculata sp. n. (Polymorphydae Meyer, 1931), a parasite of whales. P. 334-337.
A new species of acanthocephals, Bolbosoma tuberculata sp. n., is described from the intestine of Bryde's whale, sei whale and cachalot caught in South Atlantic and Indian Ocean. The length of the holotype (male) is 29 mm, the greatest width 2.9 mm. Hooks on the proboscis are arranged in 25 to 26 (seldom 24 to 27) rows, 8 (sometimes 7) hooks in each row. The new species differs from other species of this genus by sizes of the body, the number of hooks on the proboscis, and by the peculiarities of their attachment.

A new species of mermitids from ants. P. 338-341.
The common black ant, Lasius niger L., was found to be infected with the mermitid, Allomermis lasiusi sp. n. for the first time in the USSR (the Leningrad region). It differs from the type species, A. trichotopson Steiner, 1925, in a larger size, the structure of chordae, location of the mouth in front of cephalic papilles, the opening of amphids being on the level of papilles. The infected ant is twice as large as normal ones.

Gamasid mites from nests of the water vole of the Tjumen district. P. 352-358.
Gamasid mites of 45 species were found in nests of the water vole (Arvicola terrestris L.) from the southern Tjumen district. More than 78% of collected mites are parasitic forms of which Haemogamasus ambulans (Thorell) and Hirstionyssus isabellinus (Oudms.) are most abundant. Data on seasonal changes in the number of parasitic and free-living gamasid mites are given.

Infestation of small rodents with sucking lice in the forest zone of mountain Crimea. P. 371-374.
In the forests of mountain Crimea Polyplax serrata is fairly abundant on Apodemus flavicollis. On A. sylvaticus near the upper border of the beech forest P. serrata dominates while in the zone of leafy-mixed forest, where animals are less infested, Hoplopleura affinis is most abundant. Microtus arvalis is normally infested with H. acanthopus, the infestation being lower in the zone of leafy-mixed forests. The infestation depends on sex and age of hosts.

The lifetime of fleas Xenopsylla skrjabini Ioff and X. nuttallii Ioff. P. 385-388.
Studies of the lifetime of adults of Xenopsylla skrjabini Ioff and X. nuttalli Ioff were made at a temperature of 8 to 34° C at a relative humidity of 35—92%. The lifetime of fleas reduced with increasing temperature and decreasing humidity. Females lived longer than males. The lifetime of X. nuttalli was found to be much shorter than that of X. skrjabini. 50% of regularly feeding fleas of X. skrjabini lived at low temperature (8 to 17°) over 6—7 months (single individuals more than a year), at a temperature of 20 to 24° they lived 1.5 to 2 months (single individuals about 6 months). 50% of regularly feeding fleas of X. nuttalli lived at a temperature of 8 to 17° from 3.5 to 5 months (single individuals about 8 months) and at 20 to 24° — not more than one month (single individuals more than 6 months).

On the distribution of Lamblia among various groups of population in the Ukraine. P. 394-396.
Examination of various groups of population in the Ukraine has shown a higher infestation rate with Lamblia of the rural population as compared with the urban one. In towns among children of the under school age the infestation rate was 4.5%, in the country — 22%. The higher infestation rate may he explained by the maintenance of dogs in farms which proved to be spontaneous carrier of Lamblia canis and susceptible to L. intestinalis.
