Infusoria of the genus Apiosoma from freshwater fishes of the USSR. P. 505-509.
The paper generalises the recent knowledge of the fauna of Apiosoma from freshwater fishes of the USSR. The lists are given of all known species, their hosts and places of occurrence as well as data on the distribution of these species and their associations with hosts.

Ultrastructure of cysts of Lamblia muris. P. 510-514.
Young binucleat cysts of Lamblia muris were studied by means of electron microscopy. The cyst is surrounded by a homogenous membrane 0.3 to 0.4 mk thick, which over its whole extent comes off from the internal body. The internal body is enveloped with a simple cytoplasmatic membrane. The cytoplasm, contains ribosomes, vacuoles, axoneme sections of flagellae, and rounded formations of unknown nature surrounded with a double membrane. Membranes of endoplasmatic reticulum, mitochondria and Golgi apparatus were not found at all. It was shown that during incystation the cuticle of the sucking disk of trophozoite breaks up into fragments which displace into the cytoplasm thickness. The association of these fragments corresponds to falcate formations known from stained preparations of cysts of Lamblia.

On species of the Ixodes persulcatus group (Parasitiformes, Ixodidae). V. I. pavlovskyi Pom. and I. nipponensis Kitaoka et Saito in Primorje. P. 515-523.
Ixodes persulcatus is a widely-distributed and frequent species in Primorje. It is confined to coniferous-broadleaved and secondary leafy forests. I. pavlovskyi occurs in the same biotopes but is much lower in number. I. nipponensis is not common to taiga biotopes. It is distributed in southern Primorje, in the narrow coastal zone of relict landscapes. Preimaginal phases of I. nipponensis parasitize mainly Apodemus agrarius and Microtus fortis, which are typical inhabitants of open biotopes of Primorje. Female and male of I. nipponensis are redescribed in comparison with other species of the I. persulcatus group. Some peculiarities of variations in larvae and nymphs of I. nipponensis are discussed.

On the fauna of ixodid ticks from southern Donetzk district. P. 524-527.
458 wild animals (seven species of rodents and two species of predators) and 207 of their nests were examined in two southern regions of the Donetzk district. 671 ticks were collected from animals and nests. The following species were found: on rodents — Ixodes laguri laguri, I. redikorzevi redikorzevi, Rhipicephalus rossicus, Rh. pumilio, Rh. turanicus; on predators — I. laguri laguri, Rh. rossicus, Dermacentor marginatus, I. crenulatus. The peak of ticks activity was in spring and summer.

The number of generations in fleas of the genus Xenopsylla within a year in northern Kizilkum. P. 528-536.
Studies of the biology of fleas of the genus Xenopsylla carried out in 1965—1967 have shown that they have only one generation within a year and refer to univoltine insects. The single generation of these fleas develops from the end of June to June of the next year. Alternations of generations at the end of June-July-August of each year results in the decrease in epizootic process among rodents. There is no discontinuity in space and time between old and new generations.

On mites of the genus Psorergates (Trombidiformes: Psorergatidae) — parasites of Muridae and Gricetidae in the USSR. P. 537-541.
In the Soviet Union three species of cutaneous parasitic mites of the genus Psorergates were found on Muridae and Cricetidae. They are as follows: P. apodemi Fain, Lukoschus et Hallmann, 1966 on Apodemus sylvaticus L. and A. flavicollis Melch., P. dissimilis Fain, Lukoschus et Hallmann, 1966 on Microtus arvalis Pall. in a mountain-forest zone of Crimea; P. simplex Tyrrell, 1883 on Mus musculus L. in Northern Osetia. The effect of mites of P. apodemi on the skin of mice is described.

On the taxonomic status of Nirmus fulvofasciatus Grube (Mallophaga). P. 542-543.
Tringa cinerea registered as the first host of Nirmus fulvofasciatus Grube is a synonym of recent Erolia c. canutus (L.). Nirmus fulvofasciatus Grube is not identical with Degeeriella terekiae Blagoveshtchensky. Nirmus scalaris Piaget is a synonym of Nirmus fulvofasciatus Grube.

Gyrodactyloides baueri sp. n. (Monogenoidea: Gyrodactylidae) from nasal cavities of White Sea herrings. P. 544-546.
As a result of studies of monogeneans from 1317 White Sea herrings 9 species were separated, one of which is new. The paper presents a description of the species and its differential diagnosis. For the present the species is a single representative of gyrodactylids which passed to obligatory parasitism in the nasal cavity of marine fishes.

Parasite fauna of various groups of the young of Oncorhynchus nerka (Walb.) from the local stock of Lake Azabachje. P. 547-556.
A comparative analysis was made of parasite fauna of the young of Oncorhynchus nerka (Walb.) from Lake Azabachje (the basin of the Kamchatka river). The analysis showed that the young of the local stock does not represent a uniform ecological group. Parasitological data indicate that the young of O. nerka from this lake forms three groups differing in their ecology: 1. coastal group fishes of which feed mainly on benthos and aerial insects; 2. pelagic group feeding of which proceeds principally on account of plankton; 3. intermediate group with a mixed type of feeding both on bottom and plankton organisms.

Antigenic structure of the liquid of cysts of Echinococcus granulosus. P. 557-562.
The antigenic structure of Echinococcus liquid was studied by means of immunodiffusion technique. It was established that the liquid is complex and involves 13 antigenic components. Among them there are antigenes specific to tissues and stages and antigenes common to the blood serum of the intermediate host and various helminths.

Experimental study of the specificity of Porrocaecum ensicaudatum (Zeder, 1800) (Ascaridata). P. 563-568.
Experiments were carried out on the invasion of birds (Passeriformis, Anseriformes, Charadriiformes, etc.) with infective larvae of Porrocaecum ensicaudatum. After penetrating an unusual host nematodes die within a certain period of time. P. ensicaudatum reaches sexual maturity only in birds of two families (Turdidae, Sturnidae) of the order Passeriformes.

A new species of the genus Euceplialobus Steiner, 1936 (Nematoda, Gephalobidae). P. 569-572.
A new species of nematodes (Eucephalobus plicicaudatus, sp. n., Cephalobidae Steiner, 1936) was found in stems of onion and on roots of tomatoes in the Ussuri region of the Primorje territory. The new species differs in having a fold on the end of the tail, in the absence of mucro and the presence of verrucose thickening in females, and straight papillae on the lips.

Kurshymermis viridis gen. n., sp. n. parasitizing Chironomus plumosus from Kurish Bay of the Baltic Sea. P. 573-578.
A new nematode Kurshymermis viridis gen. т., sp. n. in the family Mermithidae was found parasitizing adults of Chironomus plumosus (L.) at Kurish Bay in the Kaliningrad Region. Characters of the new genus are: 6 head papillary groups arranged in one plane, 6 hypodermal chords, mouth opening terminal, adult cuticle without cross fibers; vagina long, S-shaped or modified with only the ends curved. Spicules short, thick, paired, separate, and their sides parallel most of their length.
