Vladimir A. Payevsky – Curriculum vitae

Born in 1937. Graduated from the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) State University, Department of Vertebrate Zoology in 1961. In 1961–1965, Junior Researcher of the Biological Station Rybachy of the Zoological Institute, USSR Academy of Sciences (Kaliningrad region, Eastern Baltic). In 1965–1968, PhD Student of Vertebrate Zoology Department, Leningrad State University. PhD thesis defended in 1968. Since 1968, Junior Researcher, since 1977 Senior Researcher, since 1990 Leading Research Fellow of the Biological Station Rybachy. Since 1997 Leading Research Fellow and since 2008 Chief Resarch Fellow at the Ornithological Department, Zoological Institute. Doctoral thesis (DSc in Biology) was defended in 1987.

Took part in 20 domestic and 11 international ornithological conferences and congresses.

Conducted field researching mainly on the Courish (Curonian) Spit of Baltic Sea, and also during expeditions to Kazakhstan and Tadjikistan.
