Collection: Nervous and muscle systems of free-living flatworms (Plathelminthes, "Turbellaria")

Species: Itaspiella helgolandica magna (Ax, 1967)    Turbellaria

Description: Ventral view. Image shows the brain and 3 pairs of longitudinal nerve cords (dorsal, ventral and lateral). Note many circular commissures between the cords. Fibers of submuscular nerve plexus are evenly distributed over the body.
