New and little known perciform fishes from the Upper Oligocene – Lower Miocene boundary deposits of the Caucasus (Osteichthyes, Perciformes)

Abstract. Several new and little known perciform fishes (Pirsagatia sytchevskayae gen. et sp. n., Epibatichthys corruptus gen. et sp. n.; Apscheronichtys bogatshovi Prokofiev, 2001; Pelates islamdagicus Prokofiev, 2001; Leiognathoides minutus (Daniltshenko, 1980); Pomacentridae gen. et sp. indet.; Bestiolablennius eugeniae Prokofiev, 2001), including two new genera (Pirsagatia and Epibatichthys) of Percoidei incertae sedis, from the terminal Upper Oligocene or basal Lower Miocene of the Caucasus are described.
