On the probable history of the foci of tularemia in the lower Volga in connection with the former distribution of Arvicola terrestris L. P. 105-109.
A probable holocoenic history of the tularemia foci in the region of lower Volga is discussed in connection with the finds of fossil remains of different age of the main susceptible reservoirs of this disease — Arvicola terrestris L. The conclusion is made about a pulsation of the focal limits comprising at present uninhabited territories in connection with the enlargement of the area of Arvicola terrestris in the periods of transgressions and shortening in the periods of regressions and the desertation of the territory.

The distribution of Dermacentroxenus sibiricus in the organism of Dermacentor marginatus Sulz. in different stages of its development. P. 110-114.
It has been studied the distribution of Dermacentroxenus sibiricus in the organism of their specific host Dermacentor marginatus Sulz. in all phases of the development at the infestation by feeding on animals and parenterally. The distinctions in overcoming for Dermacentroxenus sibiricus of the "intestine bar" in D. marginatus and the earlier investigated Alveonasus lahorensis Neum. are discussed.

New and for the first time found in the USSR species of chiggers (Acariformes: Trombiculidae). P. 115-122.
In this article are given the descriptions of four new species of chiggers: Myotrombicula hexasternalis sp. n., Neotrombicula subtilis sp. n., Leptotrombidium latus sp. n. and Microtrombicula gratiosa sp. n. The representative of the genus of Myotrombicula was found in the USSR for the first time. The new for the URSS species, L. dihumerale Traub et Nadchatram has been redescribed. M. hexasternalis found on bats in Kirghizia; the other species — chiefly on rodents in Tadjikistan.

Some aspects of the manifestation of specifity in chiggers (Acariformes: Trombiculidae). P. 123-127.
Trombiculid mites parasitising on the representatives of more ancient classes of land vertebrates — amphibians, reptiles and birds are more specific to them than that ones of mammals. Among trombiculid mites parasitising on mammals the parasites of bats have a greater specifity to the hosts. In their morphology there are some features of specialisation which may be considered as adaptive to the flight of bats. Trombiculids of mammals in particular of rodents on which they mainly parasitize have a high ecological plasticity.

The biology of Hirstionyssus myospalacis Zemsk. et Piontkovsk., 1957 (Parasitiformes; Gamasoidea) — the parasite of Myospalax myospalax Laxin. P. 128-131.
The results of the investigations on biology of Hirstionyssus myospalacis Zemsk. et Piontkovsk., 1957 — the parasite of Myospalax myospalax, inhabiting in the premountains of Altai (Eastern Kazahstan) are presented. For the first time it is given the description and figures of protohymphs are given and also the observations on the life cycle, the peculiarities of the behaviour and nourishment of this mite.

About the fertility and gonotrophic cycle of Hybomitra tropica Pz. (Diptera, Tabanidae). P. 132-139.
During three seasons of 1965—1967 in the district of Voronezh was undertaken a regular collections and determination of the physiological age of the females Hybomitra tropica attacking men. At the same time in the laboratory was studied the influence of a complete and partial satiation of the females with blood on the processes of eggs ripening in the ovary. The absorbed portion of blood by the females not reaching 0.3 from the body weight does not lead to the development of ovaries. The portion of blood forming 0.3—0.6 of the body weight, at the presence of carbohydrate nutrition in all the cases leads to the ripening of some portions of eggs (98—383 eggs) which had been even deposited at full satiation with blood, the portion of which prevails always the body weight, from 362 up to 592 eggs ripened. This number of eggs is less than the potential one (being defined by the whole number of ovarioles) approximately 20—25%. The local population of H. tropica can completely produce one oviposition for a season, the part of the population has time for two or even three ovipositions.

The course of the seasonal hatching of the larvae and the age composition of the females Aedes caspius caspius Pall. in Uzbekistan. P. 140-143.
By means of laboratory and field investigations it was established that in Uzbekistan in summer the deposited eggs of Aedes caspius caspius Pall. do not fall into diapause, for an exception of an insignificant number of eggs, deposited in August. The eggs, deposited in September and October chiefly fall into diapause. The females of Aedes caspius have no more than 1—2 gonotrophic cycles and only 1.1% of females deposite three and even more times.

The influence of long draining of the water body on the parasite fauna of its fishes. P. 144-148.
The results of the repeated parasitological investigation of fishes, from the Mekteb Lake after its draining are given. The comparison of the materials for 1962 and 1964 years shows that the drainage has a destructive effect on cnidosporidians, sporozoans and ectoparasitic protozoa; a number of species of parasites connected with zooplankton and in some extent — with zoobenthos decreases. The drainage has a comparatively weak effect on the gualitative composition of blood-parasites, monogeneans, leeches and also on any species of parasites connected in their development with mollusks.

Discorrelative-symmetrical heterotopics of the organs in Pentatres sphyraenae (Monogenoidea). P. 149-157.
The redescription of Pentatres sphyraenae Euzet et Razarihelisoa, 1959 is given according to the materials from the Red Sea and adjacent regions. Discorrelative-symmetrical heterotopics of the organs are examined, distinguished in investigated monogeneans (79 specimens). The analysis of this phenomena is given from ecological, morphological, systematic, promorphological and genetic points of view. On the basis of the analysis is drawn a conclusion about the presence of the balanced inner-populational polymorphism in P. sphyraenae is drawn, subjecting to the regularities of trihybrid splitting. It can judge about the beginning of the process of speciation in the Pentatres sphyraenae in the conditions of the Red Sea.

The comparison of saline resistence of the White Sea mollusk Hydrobia ulvae (Pennant) and parasitising larvae of trematodes in it. P. 158-163.
The reaction to the saline water of the White Sea mollusk Hydrobia ulvae and parasitising in them cercaria of Cryptocotyle sp., Maritrema subdolum and Microphallus somateriae was investigated. It was determined that both the parasites and their host are euryhaline organisms and produce the same demands to the salinity of the sea water. The optimal zone falls on the salinity above 14‰. At the lower salinity it was observed the suppression of Hydrobia ulvae activity and dimination of life duration of Cryptocotyle sp., Maritrema subdolum and Microphallus somateriae, proportional of the dilution of sea water. The acclimatization within twenty four hours to 12‰ and 35‰ caused in investigated organisms a corresponding increase or decrease of resistence to the action of different diluted water.
