Reaction of agglutination of pseudophyllid cestodes coracidia and its usage in cestodological studies. P. 257-263.
Ability of coracidia to agglutination in homologous antiserum was established. The method of reaction of a direct agglutination of coracidia (RDAC) in the culture of alive larvae was described. When comparing the RDAC results in homologous and heterologous variants a dependence of the agglutination pattern on the degree of antiserum homology was established. On the example of RDAC of the cestodes Diphyllobothrium dendriticum and D. ditremum in polyvalent and species-specific antisera to D. dendriticum possibility was shown of RDAC usage in the studies on specific taxonomy of pseudophyllid cestodes.

Comparative parasitological analysis of juvenile herring (Clupea pallasi n. maris—albi) reared in experimental conditions and caught in the sea. P. 264-267.
Dynamics of the infection with pathogen trematodes of Brachyphallus crenatus (Rud., 1802) and Lecithaster gibbosus (Rud., 1802) in larvae and juvenile herring reared in experimental conditions and in those which were caught in the sea has been observed. Simultaneous infection of juvenile herring in natural environments and in experimental conditions has been noted. The parasitological examination of the material suggests the degree of natural mortality of larvae in the sea. The total rate of the juvenile herring infection in nature ranges from 22 to 92%.

Effect of forest fires on the abundance and spatial structure of Ixodes persulcatus population (Ixodidae). P. 268-272.
Results of two large-scale surveys of Ixodes persulcatus distribution were compared. Surveys were conducted in a south taiga forest area in the Khabarovsk region two and ten years after a great fire. The direct inhibiting effect of the fire on the population of I. persulcatus was not continuous though apparent. By the moment of pyrogenic small forests formation on slash fires, i. e. during the period not exceeding 2—3 complete developmental cycles of I. persulcatus, the abundance and spatial structure of its population are restored completely.

Reproduction pattern of the virulent strain of plague microbe in Xenopsylla cheopis fleas infected parenterally. P. 273-276.
Xenopsylla cheopis fleas infected parenterally with the virulent strain of plague microbe of gerbil variant preserved the agent to the end of their lives. In the body cavity the microbes retained their ability for reproduction which was, however, limited. During the first seven days after the infection the number of microbes slightly increased and later became stabilized. Its mean indices (xg) varied within the limits of 500 to 2000 microbe cells per 1 individual, maximum index rarely exceeded 30 000 microbe cells. Parenteral infection with plague agent did not affect essentially the longevity of fleas.

Fleas of Aticola from Kirghizia. P. 277-286.
The complete list of species of fleas found on Alticola from Kirghizia is given. The adaptation of the fleas to definite altitude belts and their distribution in natural zones of the republic are considered. The fleas are arranged into four distinct territorial groupings: 1. Alpine fauna of eastern and central Kirghizia; 2. Complex of species from middle-mountain zone of the republic; 3. The fauna of fleas of south-western Kirghizia; 4. Faunistic complex of fleas from the Alpine zone of Central Alai. Results of seasonal observations on the dynamics of fleas abundance on Alticola are given.

Influence of mosquitoes contact with DDT. P. 287-289.
The contact of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with DDT one hour prior to the infectious feeding results in a slight decrease of their susceptibility to Plasmodium gallinaceum. The contact 24 hours prior to the infectious feeding does not affect the susceptibility of mosquitoes.

On lice of hares from the fauna of the USSR. P. 290-295.
The paper presents the information (literary data and results of the collections from Lepus timidus L. in the northeast of the European part of the USSR) on the infection rate of three species of the genus Lepus. Haemodipsus lyriocephalus (Burm.) was found on L. timidus in northern taiga, its typical host being L. europaeus Pall. In Bolshezemelskaya tundra L. timidus is parasitized by the specific louse H. leporis Blag. A rare occurrence of lice on hares is due, to a great extent, to the host's mode of life. Egg and larvae of H. leporis are described. A key to species of the genus Haemodipsus, parasites of hares from the USSR, is given.

Ultrastructure of exodermis in the late acanthella Arhythmorhynchus petrochenkoi (Schmidt, 1969) (Acanthocephala: Polymorphidae). P. 306-313.
Ultrastructure of capsule, hypoderma and subsurface musculature of the late acanthella Arhythmorhynchus petrochenkoi is described. The larval capsule is fully formed and near it single haemocytes of the host are found. Hypoderma does not contain fibrous material characteristic of adult proboscis worms. Secretion of the material from pore canals of the exterior hypodermal department is described. Cells of the subsurface musculature are polyphagous or associated with each other with cytoplasmatic processes. In addition to myofibrils fibres of connective tissue are formed in these cells that makes it possible to regard them as myofibroblasts. Differences in the structure of exodermis of presoma, anterior, middle and posterior metasomal departments were recorded.

Wild ruminants as hosts of ixodid ticks (Ixodidae) in Bielorussia. P. 314-316.
The stock rise of elk, roe and boar up to 24.2, 20.8, and 29.3 thousand heads, respectively y increased their role as hosts of imaginal developmental stages of Ixodes ricinus and Dermacentor pictus. Elk plays an especially important role as the host of I. ricinus (the index of ticks abundance — 7.31, the index of saturation — 176.9). The indices of saturation of I. ricinus imagos on roe and boar are 96.5 and 73.1, respectively. D. pictus imagos parasitise, in general, boars (the index of ticks abundance — 3.06, the index of saturation — 81.7). The role of ruminants as hosts of I. ricinus larvae and nimphs is relatively small. Larvae and nimphs of D. pictus do not occur on ruminants.
